Everest base camp trek

Everest base camp trek is the most selective trekking in the world. The real time to complete EBC (Everest base camp trek) is 9 days, but we need two days for acclimatization so walking days extend to 11 days. We can also do Gokyo Cho La pass trek as an another option that includes Everest base camp. Gokyo Cho la pass is more adventurous that extends three days than EBC trek.

Lukla is the starting point of this trekking. There are two options to reach Lukla: Lukla flight and driving to Lukla. It takes 30 minutes to reach Lukla from Kathmandu flight. During peak season the flight takes place from Ramechhap. It takes around four hours to drive from Kathmandu Ramechhap. The flight from Ramechhap to Lukla takes 20 minutes.

What to expect?

The Everest base camp trek offers a stunning view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserkhu, Cholache, Lhotse, Nuptse and many more mountains around Everest. The small Lukla village welcomes you with the Sherpa culture and local food. After having breakfast, the trekking continues to Phakding. The bank of Dudhkoshi, small Sherpa villages and forest trial are the attractions of trekking route to Phakding. Next day we will head towards Namche. The  sagarmatha national park, pine trail and uphills are the major trip highlights of route to Namche. Next day to Namche is rest day. We trek to Khumjung village and enjoy the first view of Mount Everest from Everest view hotel and Namche view point.

The trekking continues to Tengboche where we can explore the historic Tengboche monastery. The trekking to Dingobche is challenging due to rise in elevation and increasing the risk of altitude sickness. The acclimatization in Dingboche let us to explore the mountains from Nagarjuna peak. The great Himalaya from Everest region is definitely amazing to capture. Lobuche and Gorekshep both covers challenging trial with high altitude. After reaching Gorekshep we will trek to Everest base camp.
